How TO Apply

The Safari Research Program is now accepting applications for its 2024 program. The program will comprise a total 12 week course of study, with an 8 week online series (2 hours per class, meeting online every Sunday), followed by a 1 week immersive expedition-like trip to Grenada, and 3 weeks of follow up for students to complete their data analyses and write up their final research paper.

Each program will comprise a maximum of 12 students to ensure that all participants receive the individualized attention they deserve.

The 2024 Destination for the Safari Research Program is GRENADA.

The curriculum for the initial 8 week online series is as follows:

Week 1:  Intro to Ocean Sciences

Week 2:  Climate and Environment

Week 3:  Biodiversity/Pharmacology

Week 4:  Marine Ecosystems

Week 5:  Coral Reefs

Week 6:  Volcanology

Week 7:  Cultural and Historical

Week 8:  Proposals & Research Workplans

For the week-long expedition-like trip, we intend to offer multiple weeks from June to August 2024. We are finalizing the schedules for the 2024 trips now, so please CONTACT US with any questions and to request an application for the 2024 program.

12-week Program Tuition

$7,200 (per student, High School Program)

$6,500 (per student, Middle School Program)

Tuition Includes:

  • All course instruction, taught by our experienced staff of STEM educators, with individualized research oversight through completion of students’ final research papers
  • For high school students, pairing and mentorship by an expert in the student’s chosen research field
  • Participation in the 1-week expedition-like trip to Grenada, with equipment and supplies provided to support students’ research objectives
  • All on-site transportation, quality accommodations and meals included over the course of the trip*
  • Daily tours and excursions to support research, with down time excursions provided on certain days over the course of the trip
  • Support for presentation of research findings to family and fellow students during research expo
  • Fun-filled celebratory party on final day of trip

* Airfare from student’s home location to Grenada is not included in the Tuition.

Family members are always encouraged to travel with students on the expedition-like trip, and they will also be provided accommodations and meals, and will be fully entertained throughout the length of the program with their own set of planned vacation activities and excursions tailored to the nature enthusiast and lay tourist. At least one adult companion is required to travel with students in the Middle School Program.
